La Madre is a Geelong-based artisan bakery specialising in sourdough breads and pastries, supplying leading cafés, restaurants, bars and food stores across Victoria. Known for their distinctive sourdough style, unique artisan breads and delicious pastries, La Madre combines traditional baking techniques with modern production to create consistently high-quality products.
Every item is made by hand by a passionate team of bakers and chefs who are constantly developing new, flavour-driven creations. Alongside quality and craftsmanship, La Madre is also deeply committed to sustainable baking practices and supporting local and regional producers.
The name La Madre — Italian for “The Mother” — refers to the bakery’s mother culture, used to naturally kick-start all of their sourdough breads.
With a focus on sourcing exceptional ingredients, La Madre proudly supports family-owned mills and regional suppliers, using flour from Wholegrain Milling, dairy from Lard Ass, biodynamic vine fruits from Tabletop Grapes, and olives from Mt Zero.
